Mobile blog - Prawn/Shrimp feast

Had prawn/shrimp dinner that was meticulously and lovingly prepared by my love. Sugoi indeed!

For me, nothing beats home cooked meals, period. Specially when it is prepared with care and sincerity, and love. It can be as simple as a sandwich , or as intricate as Kare-kare or Pinakbet. But the point is who prepared it and how it is prepared.

Of course, the meals cooked by the professionals are good. That's why they're professionals in the first place. And it is their livelihood too. But as I mentioned, how food is prepared counts a lot too.

This reminds me of this anime, 'Yakitate Japan!', that is about an aspiring baker who always gives his best in all the things he makes. He stands out among the pros since his ways are unconventional and even 'naive' at times. But then he garners full respect from all once they try out his creations. Because it is how he prepared his food that made the mark. You can have the finest of ingredients at your disposal, but without the heart put into preparing them, it just won't come out as good.

If I were to pick between a full blown entree prepared by a master chef, and a simple meal prepared by my loving girlfriend... I'd pick her meal anytime, any day, any weather, anywhere, 24/7, 365 days/year without batting an eyelash.

You just can't beat that. Definitely priceless.

Can't wait for the next dish. ;-)

Arigato gozaimasu. Aishiteru yo. :-*
